Installing Spam CheckTo get started, you need to install Spam Check from the AppExchange and setup Remote Site Settings to allow for communication with 3rd party services. Click
here for those instructions.
Using Spam CheckOnce you have the application installed, you need to go a step further to "make it work". There are two(2) primary use cases for using Spam Check:
- Having it evaluate your web-to-lead and web-to-case submissions
- Using the Spam Checking service in your own Apex Code (like on a Salesforce Site).
Setting up Web-to-Lead and/or Web-to-CaseWe included an implementation of our Apex Code to make it easy for you to add spam checking support to your Web-to-Lead and Web-to-Case pages. If you are planning to use that functionality, you must complete
these steps.
We plan on implementing other use cases as the application matures. If you have ideas for these, please email
support.
Spam Check in ApexThe application contains Global Apex methods allowing you to perform spam checks in your own applications.
This document explains how you can use the Spam Check service in your own custom Salesforce applications. A very good use case for this would be one where you have a Salesforce Site that is accepting input and you want that input evaluated.
